Hope is a small but powerful word that often carries us through difficult moments in life. In uncertain times, hope becomes the quiet strength that helps us move forward, even when the path ahead is unclear. This poem reflects on the meaning of hope—how it appears in simple gestures, in human connection, and in the belief that better days are always possible.
Sometimes, when everything feels uncertain, all we really hold on to is one small word — Hope
A word with a million expressions,
A word that infuses positive energy,
A word that feels like the rays of sunrise,
A word on which the world moves on.
A word we all fall upon when we’re down,
A word, just four letters, yet a world of chances,
A word through which people see their dreams,
A word that gleams in the eyes of animals too.
Hope we keep with a raffle ticket in hand,
Hope we see in the eyes of a patient,
Hope we search for till exam results are out,
Hope we hold while awaiting a court judgement.
A word that fills many with inspiration,
A word that eases the pain of the wounded,
A word I wait with…. after each mail I send,
As they say, “Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.”
Hope doesn’t always promise answers. Sometimes, it just gives us the strength to wait, to believe, and to move one more step forward.
